Using REVEAL Diamond Detector and my.jtr in Your Language

This article covers how many languages REVEAL Diamond Detector can work in, and how to set this up as you set up your device.

Your REVEAL works with three pieces of software: the software on the device itself, the myREVEAL app on your phone or tablet, and My.JTR at my.jtr.org. Each one has its own language setting, so you can pick a different language for the REVEAL Diamond Detector and on my.jtr. This guide shows where to change the language in each place.

To Change The Language On the Device

Use these steps when your REVEAL is connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse (desktop mode).

  1. On the home screen, select the profile icon in the top right corner, next to the cloud and Wi-Fi icons.
  2. In the menu that opens, select Reveal Settings.
  3. The General tab opens first. If you are on another tab, select General in the left-hand menu.
  4. Under Region & Language Settings, open the Language list ("Select your preferred language for Reveal").
  5. Choose your language. To find it quickly, start typing its name in the Search... box at the top of the list.

Tip: if the device is set to a language you cannot read, the Language list is always the first setting at the top of the General tab, and every language is listed in its own script, so you can find yours at a glance.

Keyboard, Country and Time Zone

The Region & Language Settings panel holds three more settings worth checking at the same time:

Keyboard ("Set your keyboard layout") tells your REVEAL which keyboard is plugged into it, so the letters you type when naming an analysis or adding a description match the keys you press.

Set Your Country

Country ("Set your country") lists every country alphabetically, from Afghanistan onward. Choose the country where the device is used.

Time Zone

Type your city in the search bar to find your time zone.

On the myREVEAL App

The myREVEAL app has its own language setting, separate from your phone's language. It offers the same seven languages as the device.

  • Open the myREVEAL app and go to the Home tab.
  • Tap the gear icon in the top right corner to open Settings.
  • Tap App Language. The current language is shown on the right, for example English.
  • Choose your language from the list: English, Türkçe, Spanish, Portuguese, українська, Русский or 中文 (Chinese).

The same Settings screen also shows Server Region, normally set to Global. This is not a language setting, and you do not need to change it to use the app in another language.

Change the Language in my.JTR

  1. Sign in at my.jtr.org.
  2. Select your profile picture in the top right corner to open your profile menu.
  3. Select Language and choose your language. The portal offers the same seven languages as the device.

Tip: my.JTR and myREVEAL App languages are connected. When you change one, the other changes automatically.

Create Analysis Reports in Another Language

You choose the language of each analysis report when you create it, so you can hand a customer a report in their own language without changing any of your settings.

  1. Open All Analysis, or open the analysis from your device's Saved Analyzes list.
  2. Select Generate analysis report (PDF).
  3. In Create Analysis Report, choose the Language.
  4. Tick Analysis Decision Included if the result should appear on the report.
  5. Select Create Report.

Analysis reports must be switched on by an organization admin. See our guide to My.JTR organization features for how to turn them on.

Good To Know

  • Results do not depend on language. Screening and auto-detection work exactly the same in every language. Only the words on screen change.
  • Your own text stays as you typed it. Analysis names, descriptions and customer names are stored exactly as entered and are not translated.
  • Each person can work in their own language. Because the device, the app and My.JTR are set separately, and My.JTR is set per user, a team can share one REVEAL while each member reads My.JTR in their own language.
  • Changing the language does not erase anything. Your saved analyses, users and network settings stay as they are.
  • The jtr.org website and this help center are available in English, Turkish, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Italian and Simplified Chinese. Use the language selector at the top of any page.
