JTR Academy trains jewelers, appraisers, retail sales teams and laboratory professionals to assess diamonds and colored stones with confidence. Our programs run from the fundamentals of 4C grading through to advanced synthetic diamond detection. On every course participants work to accredited laboratory standards, using microscopes and detection devices themselves.
Every course begins with the international grading language. Understand how carat weight, color grade, clarity characteristics and cut proportions determine quality and price. You practise on real diamonds with the Loupe S under laboratory lighting. You learn to read a grading report line by line. You see for yourself how small differences in grade turn into large differences in price on the counter.
Natural, lab-grown (HPHT and CVD) and simulant stones increasingly look identical to the naked eye. Our detection training pairs gemological theory with hands-on diamond screening on the REVEAL Diamond Detector 2S using the same technology found in the JTR laboratory. This lets you separate natural from synthetic diamonds quickly and reliably, and recognize when a stone needs referral for full analysis.
Courses are taught by working gemologists and instrument engineers in small cohorts, in person, online and hybrid. On successful completion you receive a JTR Academy certificate recognized across the trade, a credential that proves your competence for roles in diamond grading, jewelry valuation, retail and quality control.
